These days, everyone seems to want to get into shape or stay in the good shape they’re already in. Whether they’re just doing tons of cardio trying to shave off a few pounds, or they’re hitting the weight rooms to build up some muscle, there aren’t many people who don’t think they should be getting into the gym at least once in a while! But getting yourself to dedicate yourself to a gym, pay their ridiculously high membership fees, and actually get yourself to the gym on a regular basis is not an easy thing to do for most people. There will always be a reason not to get yourself to the gym – whether it’s because it’s raining cats and dogs outside, your car is in the shop, you can’t find someone to watch your kids, or you have tons of work to do at home, you’ll always find an excuse if you want to find one.

But thankfully, you don’t even need to spend all of that money in the gym to whip yourself into shape! You can totally get yourself fit and in shape at home, without wasting all of that time and money in a sweaty, crowded gym full of people probably watching and judging your every move. The great thing is that there really isn’t a need to get tons and tons of expensive equipment and have it installed in your home in order to get yourself healthy and fit! You can totally get away with just getting your hands on some simple things to get you into shape. For instance, a yoga mat won’t cost you too much, maybe a few barbells, and maybe some decent stretch bands to do some other exercises and stretches.

There are tons of different exercises that you can easily do in your home, even without some equiptment if you can’t get your hands on any. Besides the basic yoga poses that you can basically do anywhere these days, you can do some basic things like crunches, sit-ups, push-ups, and jumping jax. Each of those things are simple enough that most people know how to do them from elementary school gym classes, yet they can definitely do a lot of good to your body if you’re looking to tone up or even lose weight. Plus for each exercise, there are different variations that you can try so that you can find something that works for your speed and your body.

One of the nicest things about being able to work out in your home, besides not actually havign to get dressed and get yourself to the gym, is that you don’t have to worry about dealing with other people watching you work out. If you’re anything like me, I hate the gym because I’m always worried that someone is juding me. Whether they’re thinking about how I’m doing a move wrong or using a  machine wrong, not liking my outfit, or whatever it may be, I always think someone is talking about me or having thoughts about me in their head. Though I’m probably over exaggerating like many other people who do the same thing, it’s definitely very nice to just do it in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
