More likely than not, you’re probably not drinking enough water. Unless you’re one of those people who naturally drinks a full water bottle or two on a daily basis without thinking about it, or you purposely make sure that you’re forcing yourself to drink a certain amount, chances are that you’re just not consuming nearly enough.

Even if you think you’re okay because you’re still drinking a lot of fluids, it doesn’t get the same effect if the fluid that you’re drinking so much of isn’t water. In fact, there are even certain fluids that will dehydrate you rather than hydrate you, which is the opposite thing you really want to be doing throughout your day. It can be really unhealthy if you’re not getting a substantial amount of water into your system on a daily basis, and it can have some serious health consequences if you’re not careful. Here are some simple ways to tell if you’re actually drinking enough water or not.

6.Inability to focus or intense sleepiness

Having enough water in your system is crucial to you being able to function correctly, including being able to focus on everyday tasks or even staying awake throughout the day. Being dehydrated can make it a lot harder to go about your day and focus on the tasks at hand. Before you jump on that extra large coffee to try and wake you up, try just drinking some plain water. This will probably help boost you up and get you to a point where you can go abuot your day.

5.The color of your urine

Ew, right? Yes, I know, but it can definitely be beneficial to your health to check what color your urine is once and a while, just in case you’re dehydrated. Basically your urine should always be pretty pale in color, so if it’s a dark bright yellow then you’re definitely not drinking enough water. The more water that you drink, the less color in your urine entirely – so the goal is for it to basically come out pretty close to clear if you’re drinking enough water!

4.Your mouth is dry

Hey, this is not a normal thing that happens! Obviously if your mouth is dry, you grab yourself a drink of something to change that since it’s not a very desirable feeling in your mouth. But if your mouth is generally dry more than it isn’t, there’s definitely a big problem there.

3.Feeling dizzy

If your brain isn’t getting enough water, it’s not going to be able to keep you balanced all of the time like you need to be. So if you’re feeling dizzy or like you’re going to fall over when you’re trying to go about your regular day, you’re probably dehydrated. This is also known as vertigo, which are episodes of your head spinning and severe dizziness which will make you want to lay down until it settles down.

2. Bad headaches

If you’re getting headaches a lot of the time, you might be dehydrated. Obviously this pain in your head is trying to tell you that there’s something wrong, or there wouldn’t be any pain to begin with! If you have a really bad headache or seem to be having them very often, try drinking more water to try and relieve yourself from all of that bad pain it puts you in. Chances are, it’ll help your pain go down, even take your entire headache away if you’re lucky!

1. Always feeling super hungry

If you’re finding yourself hungry all of the time even after you just ate a meal or even shortly after, there’s a good chance that a nice glass of water can help fill you up and take that hunger away a whole lot faster. Not only is this a lot healthier calorie wise than grabbing a snack from the vending machine at work or having something else to eat in between meals, but it will make you physically feel a whole lot better.
