In this day and age, you’re expected to want to be in a relationship. People are always giving other relationship goals, and it seems like the only way you’re ever supposed to be happy is when you have another person in your life romantically to make you happy.

Being in a relationship can sort of force you to turn down opportunities or make different decisions so that you won’t have to break up or deal with a long distance relationship. But this way, you can totally take that job offer across the country, take a few weeks off to travel around Europe by yourself, and have some new experiences that you might not be able to have if you were in a relationship.
