The Gilmore Girls are back! The Gilmore Girls are back! Yes, picture me, running around my apartment, chanting this for hours on end for my entire building to hear until I got too tired and took a nap. As a huge Lorelai and Rory fan from the very beginning of the hit television show, my emotions are still trying to get it all together after hearing about Gilmore Girls having their reunion episodes. Though the gang is only getting back together for four episodes on Netflix, we’re definitely excited to hopefully see an ending that made a lot of sense instead of the train wreck which was their farewell season. If you were at all happy about how that show ended, stop calling yourself a fan of the show immediately.

Though we already know that there are going to be tons of the original cast members coming back to film these four episodes, including all three of Rory’s love interests, until recently we didn’t really know much more. We also know that although we wish it didn’t exist and would love to wipe it from our memories, season 7 still exists to the Stars Hollow crew. The more time that goes by and the more they complete with the filming of these episodes, the more spoilers that get released before the show is even set to air.
First, there’s going to be a wedding! Apparently while on a tour of the set of Stars Hallow and the Gilmore Girls set in general at Warner Brothers Studios, a super fan saw a prop piece that caught her eye. It literally says “Wedding” on the tag for that particular prop, which means SOMEONE IS GETTING MARRIED. Honestly, the possibilities are endless with how many people are coming back and not knowing what happened to these characters when the show ended, but the majority of fans are hoping that it’s a Rory or Lorelai wedding for sure! Rory and Jess? Rory and Logan? Lorelai and Luke? Who knows, but either way, we’re so excited!

Each episode is going to be 90 minutes long, so it’s almost like we’re getting 6 of the regular length episodes of Gilmore Girls that we’re used to – AWESOME! We also know that each of the four seasons will be taking place during a different season of the year – four episodes, four seasons, makes sense. Though how they plan on smushing an entire season into 90 short minutes is beyond me. Lastly, we know that the cast and crew will continue shooting the episodes until at least the end of June of this year, so maybe we’ll have our Gilmore Girls back just in time for Christmas?
When we pick back up with the Gilmore gang, we already know that the actor who played Richard Gilmore passed away a few years ago. So obviously, the writers have not included him in the script, as they are not replacing such a beloved character with a new actor, and we only hope that they will be honoring his passing in some way during the four episodes. We do know that when we pick back up with them, Richard will have been gone about four months in the show.
